One set of chairs, two layouts
A backyard wedding needs the same chairs twice: rows with an aisle for the vows, then seats at the tables for dinner. Our white folding chairs are light enough that two people can turn fifty of them during the cocktail hour, and they look right in both settings — a clean white line in the ceremony photos, and neat under a cloth-covered round at dinner. We set the ceremony rows to your aisle width and can leave a plan for the second layout.
How many tables for how many guests
Plan on one 60-inch round per eight to ten guests for the reception, plus two or three 6-foot rectangles for the buffet, the cake and the gifts. Allow ten feet across for each round with chairs and three feet between tables. A hundred-guest wedding is roughly twelve rounds and three rectangles — and at $12 and $10 a table, that's a few hundred dollars in tables, not a few thousand. What we bring, and what we don't
We rent the tables and chairs, and we deliver, set up and collect them. We don't supply linens, chair covers, tents or décor — those come from a linen or décor supplier, and everything we rent is standard-sized so their pieces fit. What you get from us is clean, inspected furniture that turns up when it's meant to and disappears the next day, so the yard is yours again.
Common questions
- Will you set up the ceremony rows?
- Yes. Tell us the guest count and aisle width and we'll set the rows on delivery. Moving the chairs to the tables afterwards is a two-person, twenty-minute job — or we can come back and do it if timing allows.
- Do you rent chair covers, linens or tents?
- No — tables and chairs only. Our pieces are standard sizes (6-foot rectangle, 60-inch round, standard folding chair), so any linen or décor supplier's covers fit.
- What about rain?
- The chairs are molded plastic on steel and the tables have sealed tops; both wipe dry. If you're tenting, tell us the tent footprint and we'll plan the layout inside it.
- How much do tables and chairs cost to rent?
- Chairs are $1.50 each, rectangle tables $10.00 and round tables $12.00 — for the whole rental, not per day. Delivery is $2.00 per chair plus a fee based on your location; pickup from us in Scarborough is free.
- Is there a deposit?
- Yes, a refundable security deposit that scales with what you rent. It's returned in full once everything comes back in the condition it left in. We confirm the exact amount on your quote.
